In July 2026, the Environmental Science programme (ENVS) at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) conducted a small-scale alumni salary survey via an online questionnaire, ultimately collecting 180 valid responses, which accounted for 31% of the total alumni population.
The data showed that the average monthly salary of the 17 cohorts of BNBU-ENVS alumni participating in this survey was 24,222 RMB, equivalent to an average annual salary of 290,667 RMB. Compared with the salary data from the previous two large-scale alumni surveys (conducted in 2019 and 2024), i.e. 14,056 RMB and 24,017 RMB respectively, alumni salaries have reached a new high! From 2019 to 2026, the average monthly salary cumulatively increased by 70.6% over the 7-year period, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 7.9%.

Salaries vary with career development stages in the 2026 alumni survey of BNBU-ENVS (N=180)
The 17 alumni cohorts were divided into 3 groups to roughly reflect different stages of career development (see the figure above). Salaries showed a significant positive correlation with the number of years since graduation from BNBU. Approximately 90% of BNBU-ENVS graduates chose to pursue further studies, so alumni who are 1–5 years after graduated from BNBU are in the early career stage, with an average monthly salary of about 14,056 RMB; alumni 6–10 years after graduated from BNBU enter the rapid growth stage, with an average monthly salary of 24,017 RMB, which is 71% higher than that of alumni in the early career stage; senior alumni with more than 11 years since graduation from BNBU have an average monthly salary of 32,471 RMB, which is 35% higher than that of alumni in the rapid growth stage, and 131% higher than that of alumni in the early career stage. This stepped data pattern reflects that alumni of this program can achieve steady career advancement through accumulated experience and professional qualifications over the course of their careers.
As an interim update to the 2024 and the next round of large-scale alumni surveys, this survey data provides valuable reference, once again demonstrating that BNBU-ENVS graduates possess strong competitiveness and achieve steady career progression.
